Why TMD could be the reason you’re experiencing vertigo and dizziness.
What is TMD (Temporomandibular Jaw Dysfunction)?
TMD is a jaw disorder that affects the body in a number of ways. It is commonly known to appear as other illnesses, causing it to be overlooked.
TMD causes inflammation in the temporomandibular joint, irritating or misaligning the inner ear. This
can disrupt the body’s system of balance (the vestibular system) and cause the following issues.
- Ear ringing
- Hearing loss
- Earaches and pains
- Balance issues
- Vertigo or Dizziness
- Unexplained falls
What does this mean for you?
Vertigo and dizziness do not simply happen on their own. If you are experiencing either of these symptoms, this is a sign that there is an underlying problem, whether it be TMD or not. Addressing your jaw alignment may help, but it may take specific ear-related treatment for you to finally find respite.
Without treatment, you may end up causing a chain reaction of pain and dizziness throughout your body. These symptoms can lead to work-related accidents, driving accidents, falls, broken bones, and other injuries.
So if you have experienced any of the above symptoms and still have not found a solution, be sure to contact a specialist right away. You deserve answers and relief!
